Mr. Albers, 88, died at his home in Anamosa Nov. 7 following a brief illness. He was born near Monticello, Oct. 25,1893, the son of Hillerich and Anke Marie Weirs Albers. He received his early education in the rural schools of Jones County. He was married to Dena Oltmanns Nov. 1, 1917, in Cass Township and the couple farmed in Jones County until moving to Anamosa in 1935. He then worked as a general carpenter. Survivors include his wife; four children, William J. Albers of Anamosa, John II Albers of Sunnyvale, Calif., Louis E. Albers of Santee, Calif., and Lawrence W. Albers of Anamosa; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Herman Tieken of Monticello; and two sisters, Mrs. Dietrick (Elsie) Dircks of Olin and Mrs. Margaret Folken of Springville. He was preceded in death by a daughter,his parents and three brothers.
