Bill Albers, 84, of Anamosa, died Friday January 31, 2003 at the Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa following a lengthy illness. Bill was born September 1, 1918 in Castle Grove Township, Jones County, Iowa. He was the son of John and Dena Oltmans, Albers. Bill attended school in Viola and then entered the US Navy and worked in the shipyards in California during WWII. On December 21, 1940 Bill married Lucetta Siebels at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Bill was a self-employed carpenter in the Anamosa area his entire career. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Lucetta of Anamosa; two sons, Dale (Sandy) of Olathe, Kansas, Richard (Mary) of Anamosa; one daughter, Dr. Sherri Albers and husband John Hoffman; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and one brother, Lawrence (Sylvia) Albers of Anamosa. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Louis, and an infant sister. The family requests no flowers. A memorial fund has been established
