Description	:	Age – 90 Father – Daniel Starcher b. 7 July 1827 in Virginia d. 11 January 1903. Buried in Coen Cemetery, Clay, West Virginia. Mother – Martha Arnold Murphy b. February 1849 in Virginia d. November 1903 buried in Coen Cemetery, Clay, West Virginia. He was a farmer who raised corn, cane for molasses, wheat for flour. His first public job was working in the oil fields on Grannies Creek. (The company that found the oil on Grannies Creek came from Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania. (The company that found the oil on Grannies Creek came from Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The oil field grew to the point that it needed a Post Office. They took the initials of the three states and the town was called Ovapa.) He worked making main seals, these were large wooden seals hewn out of trees which had to be done by axe. He also made walking beams, this was a very hard job, but John was a very stout man. He also worked in a factory in Ohio during the World War II.
