Description	:	Shirley (Shirl) Mack Starcher, 85, of Nebo, West Virginia, entered into eternal rest on February 11, 2010 after a brief illness at Laurel Nursing Home at Big Otter. He was born November 4, 1924 in Clay county, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Tanner Starcher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Renner Smith; brothers, Orville, Andy, Jim, Harland (Boot), Denver, Corbert, Dennis and an infant French; sisters, Myrtle Tanner, Etta Houghton, Ivy Drake, Rouie Watkins, Madge Lamb, Gladys Douge, and an infant Elsie. He was born November 4, 1924 in Clay county, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Tanner Starcher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Renner Smith; brothers, Orville, Andy, Jim, Harland (Boot), Denver, Corbert, Dennis and an infant French; sisters, Myrtle Tanner, Etta Houghton, Ivy Drake, Rouie Watkins, Madge Lamb, Gladys Douge, and an infant Elsie. He is survived by his sister, Hilda Douglas of Westfield Center Ohio; a brother, Roscoe Starcher of Seville Ohio; three stepdaughters, Rena Smith, Kathy Jones and Cinda Frase; three grandsons, Lonnie, Bill and Rob Tanner all of Ohio; seven great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dora Starcher of Chloe, Jessie Starcher of Nebo, Donnis Starcher of Seville Ohio and Nell Starcher of Creston Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Shirl served proudly in the US Army and fought in Germany during WWII with the 101st Airbourne division (Screaming Eagles). He lived most of his life in Ohio where he retired from Ford Motor company as a supervisor. He then retired to Nebo where he and his wife Mary opened Granny's Kitchen in Frametown and enjoyed serving others "nightmare sandwiches". Shirl was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and he was a member of the Unity Gospel Tabernacle at Nebo. Funeral services was held 1pm Sunday, February 14 at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. Rev. Geoff Hamrick officiated. Interment is at Coen Cemetery at Nebo with Military Graveside Rites.
