Read More	FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOHN HOSSLE HELD WEDNESDAY HE DIED IN EMERSON APRIL 30; SERVICES IN METHODIST CHURCH John Hossle, well known and very prominent resident of Emerson, died at his home in this city, Monday evening following a long siege of illnesses. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Emerson Methodist church conducted by pastor Rev. L. E. Ripley and was largely attended by relatives and friends. Floral tributes were beautiful and produce and were in charge of Mrs. Martha Bags, Mrs. Bert Smith and Mrs. Elmer Bass. Music as furnished by Evangeline Lang, Mrs. Avis Traylof, Ray Fields, and Bert Smith, accompanied by Miss Jessie Kellenbarger at the piano. Pall bearers were Frank Lang, Wilbur Adams, Ferdinand Peterson, W. H. Cramer, W. T. Snodgrass, and Dave Kinsey. Interment was in the Emerson Cemetery. John Hossle, son of Alexander Hossle and Frances Fridolina Hanel, was born February 13, 1856 in Cannelloni, Indiana. His parents moved to LaClaire, Iowa when he was an infant. There for 18 years he lived on the shores of the Mississippi River. Then he came with his parents to Montgomery County. The farm home in which he grew to manhood was located north of Stanton. On November 6, 1883, Mr. Hossle was united in marriage to Eliza Trumbaur. This union was blessed with the coming of seven children, six of whom survive; George of Winner, South Dakota, Edwin of Red Oak, Clarence, Harold, and Mrs. Mabel Whitney of Emerson, and Ralph of Malvern. A daughter, Emma, died in infancy. In the year of 1899, Mr. Hossle united with the Evangelical Church, later transferring membership to the Frankfort Methodist Church near the homestead. On coming to Emerson, he united with the Methodist Church and remained a faithful member and his call came to join the church triumphant which is before the throne of God. In 1911, Mr. Hossle left the homestead near Stanton for their new home near Emerson. In 1928 they moved to Malvern. In 1930 they established in Emerson what proved to be his last earthly home. To this husband and wife was given the privilege of sharing the joys and sorrows of live for more than half a century. On November 5 of last year their children and grandchildren gathered with facilities for their golden wedding anniversary. As a citizen, husband, and father, MR. Hossle lived a life that is altogether worthy of emulation. The memory of his noble life will be cherished by his wife, children, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, two sister, Mrs. Louise Yager and Mrs. Addie Taylor of Red Oak, and by many friends and neighbors of the three communities.
