He received his education in the rural Cascade area schools. He married Irene Sternhagen on May 21, 1942, in Farley; she preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 1962. He later married Sharon Delaney on Jan. 6, 1968, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fillmore. He was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church in Cascade. John enjoyed his life, farming in the rural Cascade area. He was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed dancing. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Kremer, of Cascade; eight children, Mary Anne (Jim) Urbain, of Worthington, John (Connie) Kremer Jr., of Blue Grass, Geralyn (fiance, John Osen) Ruggles and Irene (fianc, Brian Palmer) Kremer, both of Eldridge, Denise (Craig) Hintermeister, of Bettendorf, James (Linda) Kremer and Billy Joe Kremer, both of Cascade, and Tom (Leslie) Kremer, of Sachse, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, LaVon Pasker, of Monticello; and two brothers, Nick R. Kremer and Henry Kremer, both of Cascade. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Michael Hintermeister; three sisters, Margaret Mausser, Carolyn Rose Schemmel and Isabelle Esther Schemmel; and a brother, James Kremer. A John H. Kremer Memorial Fund has been established.
