Description	:	"John H. Springer LAKESIDE Springer, 100 years old, of Lakeside, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009. John was born Oct. 18, 1908, in Eau Claire, to William and Rosella (Cranfull) Springer. He served his country in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Private First Class, stationed at Fort Sill, Okla. On Sept. 19, 1931, he married Vera Brown in LaPorte, Ind. He was a member of St. Agnes Church, Sawyer. Survivors include his grandchildren Julie (John) Grynwich of New Buffalo and Lance (Anna) Springer of Coloma; great grandchildren Stephanie Grynwich, Isaac Grynwich, Dustin Springer, Kellie (Andrew) Epstein and Joshua Springer; sister, Violet Dunkel of Washington; brother, David Springer of Lakeside; and sister-in-law, Vernita Kurina of Lakeside; Amy Springer of Galien; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousins. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vera in 2002; son, John E. Springer; daughter-in-law, Norma Springer; infant grandchildren, John E. Jr. and Renee Rosalie; sisters, Gladys Neruda and Ethel Reynolds; and brothers, Lawrence, Clarence and Walter. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 1 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, at St. Agnes Church, Sawyer, with the Rev. Father Donald Suberlak, C.R., as celebrant.
