He was married to Louisa Hutchinson near what is now known as Readsville, Penn., in 1844. They came to Ohio in March 1854, and settled near West Milton, and then to Darke County in 1858. He was married to Louisa Hutchinson near what is now known as Readsville, Penn., in 1844. They came to Ohio in March 1854, and settled near West Milton, and then to Darke County in 1858. After her death, Mr. Harman moved to Gettysburg where on February 8, 1866 he was married to Miss Margaret Tenent. In March 1869, they both joined the Morris Chapel M.E. Church, near Gettysburg. The deceased continued a member of the M.E. church, belonging to the Versailles M.E. church at the time of his demise. He was very punctual in attending church services so long as he was able and could hear. There are four sons and 6 daughters, 35 grand children, 21 great grand children, two brothers and many other relatives and friends to mourn his going away. Mr. Harman enlisted in Co.B, 44th O.V.I, Sept. 10, 1861,and was honorably discharged April 2, 1862, cause of disability--chronic rheumatism. Afterward he was mustered into the Hundred's Day service, Co. C, 152nd Ohio National Guards, in May 1864, and mustered out about the 1st day of Sept. The funeral services were held from the M.E. church in Versailles, the pastor preaching the funeral sermon. Singing by the M.E. choir, and the pall bearers were all Grand Army men. The remains were laid to rest in Green Lawn cemetery to await the summons of the last day.
