John was born on January 9, 1934 on the family farm near Buckeye to William and Edna (Clauson) Krause. He was the youngest of five children. Read More	John Harrison Krause, 80 of Iowa Falls passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames after a long battle with heart disease. John was born on January 9, 1934 on the family farm near Buckeye to William and Edna (Clauson) Krause. He was the youngest of five children. He was baptized at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buckeye. He attended the Hardin County District #2, Alden Township Country School until 1948 and was taught by both his mother and his sister. He was confirmed at St. Paul's in 1948 and graduated from the Alden Community High School in 1952. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. His military occupation was as a Radar Operations Specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1956. He returned home to assist his mother in farming after his father passed away. He also worked for Iowa Limestone. John was united in marriage to Marjorie Fuller of Owasa on May 11, 1957. This marriage brought two children, Diane and Brian. After their marriage they lived on the Art Eller farm near Radcliffe until 1966. They then purchased the farm near Buckeye where they lived and raised their children until they moved to Iowa Falls in 1990. Through the years, John was involved in numerous community functions. He was involved in 4-H in his youth, a member of the Radcliffe Farmer's Cooperative Elevator Board, Radcliffe American Legion, Hardin County Park Producers, and the Iowa Falls Elks and Moose Lodges. He was an active member of the Alden United Methodist Church. Farming was John's life and his passion. Even after moving from the farm, he drove out each day to oversee what was going on and was there long after dark. He loved mowing the two farm sites and did so up until several weeks prior to his death. He enjoyed being involved with his grandchildren's activities and never missed an event. John was an avid sports fan and loved watching football or basketball games on his big screen TV. He was often known to tease others and never knew a stranger. John is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Iowa Falls; his children, Diane Meneough of Nevada and Brian (Christy) Krause of Alden; grandchildren, Nathaniel Krause of Camp LeJeune, NC, Benjamin Krause of Radcliffe, and Whitney Krause of Des Moines; brother, William (Bill) Krause of Iowa Falls; brother-in-law, Earl Fuller of Naples, FL; sisters-in-law, Dixie Krause of Ames and Kay Krause of Seward, NE; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Mick Meneough; brothers, Walter (Wally) and Robert (Bob) Krause; sister, Jean Hurst; and brother-in-law, Jim Hurst.
