Description	:	John and Hannah Gilliland Henderson were the first generation of Henderson's to reside in Clarke county, arriving in 1860 and locating in Ward Township. Henderson all of the NW1/4 of NW1/4 of Section 20, in Ward township and County of Clarke and State of Iowa, to have and to hold the same to himself and his heirs and assigns forever. Second: I give and devise to my son Joseph A. Henderson all the SE1/4 of NW1/4 and the E1/2 of the NE1/4 of NW1/4 of Section 20 in Ward Township, Clarke County and State of Iowa. to have and to hold the same to himself and his heirs and assigns forever. Third: I give and devise to my son Philander H. Henderson all of the SW1/4 of NW1/4 of Section 20, in Ward Township, Clarke County, and State of Iowa to have and to hold the same to him and his heirs and assigns forever. Fourth: I give to my sons James G. and Philander H. Henderson jointly all of the SW1/4 of NW1/4 of Section 21, in Ward Township, Clarke County, and State of Iowa, to have and to hold the same to themselves their heirs and assigns forever. Fifth: I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret J. Henderson $400.00 to be paid to her one year after my death from proceeds of my personal property. Sixth: I give and bequeath to my grand-daughter Permtia M. Henderson, daughter of my son Samuel Henderson, deceased, (in addition to $200.00 her father received) $50.00, to be paid to her when she comes of age. Seventh. I give and bequeath to my wife Hannah P. Henderson all the West half of the NE1/4 of NW1/4 of Section 20, in Ward Township, Clarke County and State of Iowa, and also the E1/2 of SE1/4 of the NE1/4 of section 29, in Washington Township, Clarke County, State of Iowa, to have and to hold her natural life and dispose of the same as she deems proper. Eighth: I appoint my son Joseph A. Henderson sole executor of this will. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of November A. D. 1871, the annexed instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of John Henderson late of said County deceased, was by said Court duly allowed and admitted to probate according to law, it's execution having been duly proven to law.
