He was born on March 16, 1924 in Cabins, WV, and was the son of the late Andrew Jason and Lucy (Nelson) Ayers. He worked for Rockingham Poultry before retiring. He was a member of the Mennonite Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Ayers, two sisters and two brothers.
