Richard Kothe officiating. Interment was in the Central City Cemetery. Mrs. Don Holmsted was the organist for the congregation as they sang "Hark! The Sound of Holy Voices", "Lets Us Ever Walk With Jesus", and Abide With Me! Fast Falls The Eventide." He was born April 1, 1901 at Columbus [NE], the son of William and Amanda (Luschen) Hake. He attended rural schools near Columbus. He married Bertha Butt January 9, 1921 at Palmer, NE. They farmed in the Central City area. Mr. Hake was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors include his widow; two sons, LaRoy of Eureka CA and Weldon of Palmer NE; a daughter, Mrs. Loris Ann Doncheske of Palmer; a brother, Henry of Highland IN; and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Kunnemann of Hammond IN, Mrs. Hulda Kuppinger, also of Hammond, Mrs. Alma Kamper of North Platte NE, Mrs. George (Marie) Retzlaff of Central City, and Mrs. Stan (Minnie) Buckalew of Orchard CO; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two brothers, two sisters, an infant son, and an infant granddaughter.
