Father of:(with Shelby) Kimberly "Kim" Diane, Beverly Ann, John Randall "Randy" Rhonda Renee (Davis), Christopher "Chris" Allen, & Jimmy Rohrer. John H. "Shorty" Rohrer, 59, of Buckingham Road, died Sunday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. Mr. Rohrer was retired from Alltrista Zinc Products as an electrician. He was a member of Hill Street Church of God. Those close to him knew him as a devoted Christian and said that he was loved by family and friends. Survivors include his wife: Ruth Rohrer; three daughters and a son-in-law: Rhonda and Randall Davis, Kim Rohrer, and Beverly Rohrer, all of Greeneville; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Randy and Debbie Rohrer of Mosheim and Chris Rohrer Waites of Greeneville; three grandchildren: Randall Davis Jr., Nikki Davis, and Jonathan Rohrer; a brother: Bob Rohrer of Greeneville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Josephine and I.H. Ricker, Kathryn and Lavone Jones, and Dorothy Fillers, all of Greeneville; a sister-in-law: Louise Rohrer of Greeneville; a brother-in-law: Donald "Slim" Helton of Chuckey; several nieces and nephews; a special aunt: Lottie Edie of Lewisburg; a special uncle: Marion Rohrer of Greeneville; and special friends: Tammy and Hildred Colbaugh, Gaye and Brandie Ricker, Johnny Parker, Bob Halen, and Larry Broyles. He was a son of the late Fred and Goldie Metcalf Rohrer and was preceded in death by two granddaughters: Leslie Renee Rohrer and Kristin Annette Rohrer; a brother: Bill Rohrer; and a sister: Edith Helton. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Jeffers Mortuary. The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Jeffers Mortuary Chapel with interment in Gethsemane Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Whitson, the Rev. Gene Swatzell, the Rev. Norman Rush, and the Rev. Jonathan McGuire will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Tony Ricker Sr., Eddie Rohrer, Larry Fillers, Timothy Helton Jr., Brad Tweed, Jimmy Ricker, Chris Ricker, Mark Tweed, and Nicholas Combs. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Alltrista, Greg Jones, Freddy Jones, Jason Jones, Tony Ricker II, David Fillers, Tim Helton Sr., the Rev. Lynn Neas, Lynn Ricker, Jeff Ricker, Dean King, and members of the Men's Bible Class.
