His will was probated in Pendleton County, Virginia February 1815. He married Madalgena Bruner, daughter of Jacob of Shenandoah County, Virginia, May 29, 1774 Dunmore County, Virginia. He was not a Captain as shown on his tombstone, but must have been confussed with his son John , who was a Captain of the Militia, according to Mary Clay Hiner 1966. This cemetery is located on the old farm of William Hiner in a cow pasture. In 1966 all of the tombstones were down. The family decided to take all the markers away and put the inscriptions on one large tombstone, placing an iron rod fence around it to protect it from animals.
