He was born Sept. 11, 1911, at Guilford Lake, a son of the late LLOYD A. and NENA WILLIARD CROSSER, and lived in this vicinity all his life. He and his wife owned and operated the Crosser Service Station and Diner in Lisbon from 1944 to 1972. He then worked for Corey Oil Co. of Columbiana, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Lisbon First Presbyterian Church where he had served as a church trustee and the New Lisbon F & AM Lodge No. 65, the Iva Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Lisbon and the Guilford Grange. He was a former member of the Lisbon Kiwanis Club and the Lisbon Ruritan Club. He was presently serving on board of directors of State Savings and Loan Co. of Lisbon. Survivors include his wife, the former LORENA ARTER, whom he married Oct. 29, 1939, a niece, DR. BETTY WEST-DAVIDSON of Tempe, Ariz.; two nephews, AARON G. ARTER of Lisbon and JOHN S. ARTER of Salem; and several other nieces and nephews. His sister, MRS. MARGARET WEST, died Aug. 30, 1973. Funeral services are to be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home by Dr. Frank Montgomery, interim pastor of the Lisbon First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Informal calling hours are to be held Wednesday afternoon with the family present 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the Crosser Scholarship Fund of the church.
