Born July 9, 1909, at Guilford Lake, she was the daughter of JOHN S. and MARY (SCHMIDT) ARTER. Mrs. Crosser lived in Lisbon all her life and had owned and operated Crosser's Diner and the former Crosser's Service Station from 1944 to 1974. She was a member of the Lisbon First Presbyterian Church, Guilford Lake Grange, Iva Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Lisbon and the Lisbon Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death June 3, 1985, by her husband, JOHN HOWARD CROSSER, whom she married Oct. 29, 1939. Survivors include several nieces and nephews including, DR. BETTY WEST-DAVIDSON of Tempe, Ariz., MARY LOUISE HORST of Chadron, Neb., AARON G. ARTER of Lisbon and JOHN S. ARTER of Salem. She was preceded in death by two brothers, ROLLIN ARTER and RAYMOND ARTER; and four sisters, MABLE SANOR, THELMA BRUMBAUGH, ELSIE VERSACH and MILDRED MASON. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald A. Spear of the church officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crosser Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Lisbon First Presbyterian Church.
