Description	:	John Isom is the son of Francis Isom (1803 – 1878) and Ann Kenney (1808 – 1831). He married Adah Franks (1827 – 1863) in 1849 in Thorpe, Derbyshire, England at the age of 21. At the age of 27, John departed from Liverpool, England along with his wife Adah and his four children, Joseph Isom 1849 – 1930, John Thomas Isom 1850 – , Mary Ann Isom 1852 – 1948 and Sara Isom 1854 – 1951, arriving in America (New York, New York) on 13 Jun 1855. John's brother, Thomas, age 22, was with him and his family when they came to America. He is on the Passenger List. Thomas Isom, b. Mar. 10, 1833 d. Mar. 9, 1913, is Find A Grave Memorial #86462973. They settled in Dane County, Wisconsin. Adah and John had three more children. Lillah, Alfred and Henry William. Adah died sometime before 1863. John married Sarah Allen Pollack on 1 Oct 1863 at the age of 36. Out of this marriage there are seven known children. Three of these children died in infancy. The names of the children are Martha E. Isom 1864 – 1865, Robert B. Isom 1866 – 1943, Nellie Rebecca Isom Hart 1867 – 1941, Mary Isom 1868 – 1868, Esther Allison Isom Ebersole 1870 – 1957, Ossian Carl Isom 1872 – 1942 and Arthur DeWitt Isom 1876 – 1876. Sometime between 1870 and 1880 he moved his family from Dane County, Wisconsin to Dixon County, Nebraska.
