He was born in the Bayard community May 7, 1889 and had lived all his life in this area. A Solemn Requiem High Mass was said at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Bayard at 10 a.m. October 22. Interment was made in the Willow cemetery. Casket bearers were Tom Caraher, Bill Caraher, Jim Murrane, Ed Caraher, Paul Caraher, and Jim Caraher. Mr. Caraher followed the profession of farming and he married to Miss Rosella Moylan at St. Patrick's September 6, 1927. They were parents of a daughter, Therese Ann, and a son, Joseph. His wife and children survive as well as a son-in-law, Kenneth Bohnenkamp of Remsen and a daughter-in-law, Susette Caraher of Bayard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Catherine Caraher, and a sister Catherine. Surviving grandchildren are Mike, David, Larry, Jimmy and Johnny Boknenkamp and Daniel and Michael Caraher. Five brothers survive. They are Brother Jerome, Trappist, Kentucky; Father Edward TOR (Paul) Geddes, South Dakota and Ed, Tom and Peter of Bayard. Also, Sister Mary Magdalen (Rose) of Council Bluffs.
