On Feb. 16, 1946, he married Carol Ann Flick, who survives in Lima. They would have been celebrating their 60th anniversary next week. He was born March 19, 1924, in Lima to Norman and Johanna Fox Funni, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 16, 1946, he married Carol Ann Flick, who survives in Lima. They would have been celebrating their 60th anniversary next week. Mr. Funni retired as a master plumber and owner of Jack Funni Plumbing & Heating. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus Council 2661, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, where he was a past exalted ruler. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving as a tech sergeant and serving 30 months in England. Survivors also include four daughters, Sharon (Tom) Moening of Elida, Carol (Jim) Mitchell of Lima, Linda (Mark) Cummings of Elida and Diane (Jim) Lee of Lima; 12 grandchildren, Rick (Erica) Moening, Rob (Carri) Moening, Michelle (Andy) Etzkorn, Steve Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, Lori (Mike) Lockhart, Mike (Brenda) Santaguida, Nic Santaguida, James Lee, Allison Lee, Erica (David) Thomas and Shaila Cummings; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sister Marie Funni, Dorothy Altenbach and Pauline Foust. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Funni; and a great-grandson, Anthony Santaguida. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Siferd Funeral Home, Westwood Chapel, where a parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m. and a BPOE service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church or the athletic department at Lima Central Catholic High School.
