Read More	Life Story of Jack Markert (By Pastor Dennis Niles of Faith Community Church) John "Jack" Markert, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, at the Paula Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Jack was born in Fort Dodge on June 6, 1934 and was the son of John G. and Emma M.(Strutzenberg) Markert. He graduated from Manson High School in 1952. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knierim. He was also confirmed at St. John in Lizard Township. He was a member of Faith Community Church of rural Palmer. On June 26, 1954, Jack was united in marriage to Bessie May Louth at St. John's Church. This marriage was later dissolved. Jack worked for Henry Buenting Excavation for a brief time and then went to work at John Deere Implement in Manson for 12 years. He then began to farm in the area and did so until his retirement. Throughout Jack's life he enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Jack had a love for nice cars and motorcycles. I first met Jack about 8 years ago when I came to visit his mother Emma. We always enjoyed good conversation. I know that Emma was especially happy that Jack could live with her which allowed her to remain in her home until the very late years. Eccl.3:2 - A time to be born and a time to die. Jack is survived by his sons, Larry and his wife, Deb Market of Battle Creek, IA; and Jeff and his wife Cindy, of Manson; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a a sister, Bonnie Gates of Humboldt, and Alan "Butch" and his wife Carrie Markert of Manson. He was proceded in death by his parents, a son, Lynn Markert; two still born children; and a granddaughter Emily Markert. May the Lord bless the memory of Jack Markert.
