Description	:	Mr. John De Wild died Wednesday, January 26, at 12:17 in the morning at his home, three miles south of Hull at the age of 53 years. 7 months and 29 days. He is mourned by his wife Mrs. Antonia De Wild nee Verploeg, to whom he was married on March 14, 1882, and seven children: Mrs. Henrietta Wissink; Conrad DeWild; Mrs. Pearl Kooiker and Albert De wild and their families, all of this vicinity, and Henry, Alice and John De Wild who are at home with their mother. Read More	Mr. John De Wild died Wednesday, January 26, at 12:17 in the morning at his home, three miles south of Hull at the age of 53 years. 7 months and 29 days. He is mourned by his wife Mrs. Antonia De Wild nee Verploeg, to whom he was married on March 14, 1882, and seven children: Mrs. Henrietta Wissink; Conrad DeWild; Mrs. Pearl Kooiker and Albert De wild and their families, all of this vicinity, and Henry, Alice and John De Wild who are at home with their mother. Two of their children have died, one at Sioux Center and one here at Hull. Besides the family, Mr. De Wild leaves a brother, Albert DeWild of Davenport, Iowa and a sister, Mrs. Trina Onstela of Pella, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. De Wild first lived at Pella, Iowa after their marriage, but in 1889 moved to Sioux County, living a few years near Sioux Center, but for the past twenty-five years at the present place near Hull. The funeral was held last week Saturday, from the First Reformed church at hull. Rev. J.H. Kregel officiated, and conducted the services in both English and Holland language. An exceedingly large crowd attended the services, many could not be accommodated in the large church. The presence of such a large number of friends was a fitting testimony of the love and esteem in which brother De Wild was held. Indeed, in Mr. De wild we have lost a faithful friend , who always tried to seek the welfare of others; an upright citizen, who always was , in many respects an example to every one; and a beautiful Christian, who was indeed a reflection of the spirit of the Master, who said: "I came not to be ministered unto, but to minister". Herewith we extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones. Mrs. De wild and family desire to express their sincere gratitude to the many friends who so kindly assisted them in and during the sickness of husband and father, and during trying days of the funeral, contributed. -Obituary from The Sioux County Index (2/4/1921)
