He served as Church superintendent 40 years ago when it was the Congregational Christian Church. John loved to read and fish, ride his horses, and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those relatives who preceded John in death were his parents; children, Raymond Dean, Lance and Beverly - both in infancy; sisters, Freda Brant & Marie Brant; and brothers, William Brant & Walter Brant. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Mary Evelyn Brant of Truro; daughter, Mary Austin of St. Charles; son, Eric Brant of Truro; grandchildren, Tana (Kurt) Krumm of Van Meter, Jared Austin of Des Moines, Jackie (Jeff) Wagner of Truro, Karla (Jeff) Heaberlin of Indianola; great grandchildren, Troy and Laurel Krumm, Miranda and Valerie Wagner, Maddie and Logan Heaberlin; other relatives and many friends.
