John Junker was born July 17, 1892, as the son of Ralph Junker and his wife, Wilhelmine, nee Aden. The Junker farm, 10 miles northeast of Gothenburg, homesteaded by his father, was the place where he lived his entire life. John Junker was born July 17, 1892, as the son of Ralph Junker and his wife, Wilhelmine, nee Aden. The Junker farm, 10 miles northeast of Gothenburg, homesteaded by his father, was the place where he lived his entire life. Baptized in infancy, he was confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church, Gothenburg, Nebraska, in the year 1938. On March 12, 1924 he was wedded to Miss Elsine Mueller at Marysville, Kansas. Although in ill health for almost 21 years, he performed his daily duties on his farm, until three years ago, when a sudden illness was followed by a light stroke and hemmorhage. During the last three years he sought relief from his illness in consultation with specialists and blood doctors. Although there was temporary relief, medical science could not heal him. High blood pressure and Bright's disease persisted. The immediate cause cause of his death was convulsions. His age was 52 years, 11 months and 1 day. He was preceded in death by his twin sisters, Grace and Marie; his sister; Ida Shortus; and brothers Henry and Ben Junker. He leaves to mourn: his faithful wife, Mrs. John Junker; his son: John Waldemar, at home; his brothers and sisters: Henry Junker, Gothenburg; Chris Junker, Cozad; Mrs. Lena Stellman, Gothenburg; Maria Junker, Gothenburg; Mrs. Grace Burland, Gothenburg; Reakus Junker, Cozad; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, from the Olesen Mortuary to the Zion Lutheran Church, in charge of Reverend Fred Efken, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church. Pallbearers were: Chas. Bursing, Virgil Junker, Raymond Junker, Ben Stellman, Herbert Franzen and Bruno Cyriacks. Music was furnished by Esther Stevens, Alfred Flank, Robert Mohling, Mrs. Otto Hinz, Ernest Jobman and Ren Jobman, with Mrs. Ernest Jobman, pianist.
