Read More	Coon Rapids Enterprise November 13, 1885 Died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Mack Sankey, in Coon Rapids, Carroll county, Iowa at 9 o’clock p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5th, 1885, Mr. John Kesselring, aged 79 years and 5 days. Father K. was born near Elsos, France, Nov. 1st, 1806, and came to America in the fall of 1838, settling in the state of Ohio. From there he moved to Indiana where he resided until the year 1867, when he came to Iowa. During the last seven years of his life he lived in Audubon county and was a man loved and respected by all who knew him; very religious, having been a devoted Christian the major portion of his life. When death called for him, he said he was “ready and wanted to go”. He was married in the state of Ohio in 1841, to Miss Catherian Yound, who is now called upon to mourn his death. He was the father of ten children eight of whom are now living, two having gone on before and are with him to-day in the spirit land. He suffered terribly during his short illness, but bore it all with christian fortitude, and quietly passed away in the full assurance of faith, and in the hope of a glorious resurrection. May the God of all grace who alone is able to give us victory over death, and the grave—to whom we must go for help in time of trouble, abundantly bless the dear old mother who is now left alone, also the children and friends, and may we all be permitted to meet in the upper and better kingdom, The funeral services were conducted by the writer, assisted by Rev. Crittenden, at 11 a. m, Nov. 7th at the christian chapel. John A. Linder.
