Description	:	John R. Kilber, 66, Bismarck, died Feb. 18, 2015, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, with the Rev. Kenneth Phillips officiating. John was born Sept. 23, 1948, in Hazen, to Edwin and Frances (Geiger) Kilber. He was raised and educated in Stanton, graduating from Stanton High School in 1966. John was born Sept. 23, 1948, in Hazen, to Edwin and Frances (Geiger) Kilber. He was raised and educated in Stanton, graduating from Stanton High School in 1966. John attended National College of Business in Rapid City, S.D., for two years and received an associate’s degree in business administration/accounting. He worked for the North Dakota State Tax Department as an internal auditor until 1973, when he began a private accounting practice which he ran until 1979. On Jan. 18, 1974, John married Eldora Brunmeier at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen. They lived in Bismarck their entire married lives. In November 1974, John went to work at H.A. Thompson and Sons, retiring in May 2014. John enjoyed hunting, especially deer and camping for as long as his health allowed. He also enjoyed NASCAR with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eldora, Beulah; two sisters, Carolynne Blann, Omaha, Neb., and Kathy (Larry) Klindworth, Stanton; three brothers, Douglas (Trudy) Kilber, Bismarck, Leonard Kilber, Virginia Beach, Va., and Kevin (Heather) Kilber, Santee, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Donna; one sister-in-law, Linda; and two infant nephews.
