He was married to Mary Ann Murphy in Jones County, Iowa, in December, 1856. To this union were born eight children, four of whom died in childhood. He came to Nebraska in 1892 and settled on a farm east of Angus where he lived until the spring of 1907 when he removed to Angus where his wife died April 19, 1918. One year ago last October, he removed to Edgar where he resided up to the... Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Jan 21, 1927 - pg 1 John King was born in Butler County, Ohio, August 15, 1835. He was married to Mary Ann Murphy in Jones County, Iowa, in December, 1856. To this union were born eight children, four of whom died in childhood. He came to Nebraska in 1892 and settled on a farm east of Angus where he lived until the spring of 1907 when he removed to Angus where his wife died April 19, 1918. One year ago last October, he removed to Edgar where he resided up to the time of his death. Mr King converted to Christ and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church Amber Iowa in the year 1887 and held strongly to his faith up to the last, dying in hope of immortal life through his Lord. He passed away at his home in Edgar, Monday, January 17, 1927, aged 91 years, 5 months and 2 days, being survived by three sons and one daughter, as follows: H. F. King of Edgar, Mrs Dora Perryman also of Edgar, J. A. King of Yates Center, Kansas, and S. J. King of Angus, Nebr., two brothers, J. M. King and F. A. King of Monticello, Iowa, besides sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and a large number of old neighbors and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Episcopal Church of Edgar, Nebraska, Tuesday, January 18, 1927 at * P. M., Charles A.
