Mr. Klinker came to the United States on October 25, 1900 at the age of 25 years and farmed in the Quimby vicinity, for 11 years. On March 15, 1908 he was united in marriage to Hattie Steiner. They became the parents to six children. He move to Cherokee in 1928 to make his home. He was employed on several farms and also did roofing work for Hugh Swisher.... For a number of yers prior to his death he lived at Gregg Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife, Hattie; one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Mae) Miles, both of Cherokee; two sons, Ross Klinker of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Pete of Corpus Christi, Tex.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret in 1916 and Edna in 1937, and by an infant son in 1920; also by two brothers in Schleswig, Germany and another brother, Henry Klinker of Hartley, Ia. Funeral Services were held June 20 from the Boothby Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Lehn officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were H. C. Swisher, Floyd Shove, R. F. Schroeder, Frank Shove, Alvah E. Jones and Karl Gesland.
