Description	:	John Lee was born March 17, 1831, in Morristown, Belmont county, Ohio. He came when a young man 21-years-old to La Moille, Bureau county, Ill., was married to Mary Esther Fassett, April 20, 1850. They moved with their family of small children to Decatur county, Iowa, March 1869 and bought a farm. He was a resident of the same county continuously until the time of his death May 19, 1902, 11:15 a. m., at the home of his daughter Mrs. C. F. Smith in Lamoni, after an illness of several months with heart trouble. Read More	John Lee was born March 17, 1831, in Morristown, Belmont county, Ohio. Smith in Lamoni, after an illness of several months with heart trouble. He leaves his lonely wife after 46 years of married life and 4 living children Mrs. W. W. Peasley, of Kellerton, W. E. Lee, of Davis City, Mrs. C. F. Smith, Lamoni, Mrs. H. E., Perkins, Kellerton. Their eldest daughter, Mrs. J. W. Turner, of Eagleville, Mo., died July 1881, and an infant child died January, 1872. They have 9 grandchildren living and four dead. No one enjoyed life or loving their children or grandchildren visit at the old home more than did he or did more for them to enjoy themselves. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity since 1856, enjoying the workings of the order as few men are capable. Largehearted, warm-hearted, generous to a fault, beloved in his own family, which he idolized, he will be sadly missed by each one. The funeral services were conducted from the home of C. F. Smith, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by President Joseph Smith, after which the remains were taken to the Creveling cemetery [sic], where the Masonic lodge of Davis City took charge of the services.
