Description	:	John LeRoy Hofer, 80, of Randalia, died Saturday, June 21, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, of cancer. He was born April 11, 1928, in the Swiss settlement near Elgin, son of Ben and Loretta Bates-Imhof Hofer. He married Dora Gage in 1946. They later divorced. He married Audrey Murphy on Aug. 11, 1966. Mr. Hofer was a lifelong farmer in Fayette County. In addition to farming, he drove a truck for Dummermuth and Fay Trucking in Fayette for 20 years and was a school bus driver for the West Central School District. He was born April 11, 1928, in the Swiss settlement near Elgin, son of Ben and Loretta Bates-Imhof Hofer. He married Dora Gage in 1946. They later divorced. He married Audrey Murphy on Aug. 11, 1966. Mr. Hofer was a lifelong farmer in Fayette County. He was a member of Randalia United Methodist Church and was a member and past president of the Volga River Riders Saddle Club. Survived by: his wife; a son, John "Rick" (Jonnie) of Oelwein; six daughters, Peggy Nelson and Cheryl (Stan) Ahlrichs, both of Hiawatha, Janice (C.R.) Marshall of Stevens Point, Wis., Shirley (Larry) Wenthe of Prairie City, Bobbie (Alan) Beenken of Grundy Center and Linda (Rod) Bowers of Webster City; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben (Betty) of Central City and Alfred (Iona) of State Center; a sister, Mary (Bill) Pfister of Elgin; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Hofer of Wadena and Patience Hofer of Marion. Preceded in death by: his first wife, Dora Gage; a son, John Jr.; a stepson, Steven Reynolds; two brothers, Paul and Sam; and a sister, Rose Hofer. Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wadena Presbyterian Church with burial in the Wadena Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Fayette, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
