Boettger (1923 - 1974) John LeRoy Boettger, son of John and Elsie Finneran Boettger was born on a farm in Hanover Township, October 8, 1923, and died at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison on Friday, August 16, 1974. Jack was raised on the farm and attended rural schools. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He farmed in the Denison Community before purchasing the Jo Mart Steak House and Motel in 1961. The Girl's Softball Team, the Men's Softball team, the Jacks, and several bowling teams were sponsored by him. He was active in many ways... Read More	John L. Boettger (1923 - 1974) John LeRoy Boettger, son of John and Elsie Finneran Boettger was born on a farm in Hanover Township, October 8, 1923, and died at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison on Friday, August 16, 1974. Jack was raised on the farm and attended rural schools. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He farmed in the Denison Community before purchasing the Jo Mart Steak House and Motel in 1961. The Girl's Softball Team, the Men's Softball team, the Jacks, and several bowling teams were sponsored by him. He was active in many ways toward helping the community. He served as chairman of Coffee Day for Crawford retarded children. He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include his father, John of Denison, four brothers, Raymond and Hugo of Dow City, Arthur and Lester of Denison, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral Services were held Monday, August 19, 1974, at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison with Rev. Robert Maschke officiating. Mrs. Robert Maschke served as organist and Henry Henningsen sang The Lord's Prayer and The Old Rugged Cross. The congregation sang Rock of Ages. The following served as pallbearers, Roger Boettger, Jerry Boettger, Terry Boettger, John Boettger, Larry Boettger and Henry Boettger. Interment was made in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens.
