The late Mr Lindsay was the youngest son of the late J. Lindsay and Elizabeth Leitch, and was born and spent his early years on the farm now occupied by Mr N.E. Rose, on the 9th line of Pakenham township. On Jan 24th, 1877, he was married to Sarah Elizabeth Connery, daughter of the late William Connery, of Cedar Hill. They made their home on a farm near Blakeney until seventeen years ago when they retired from farming and moved to Almonte. Mrs Lindsay survives with a family of two sons, James E. and John and one daughter, Annie M., all residing in town. He is also survived by one brother James Lindsay, of Pakenham Village. The funeral which was largely attended was held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev J.R. MacCrimmon of Bethany United Church of which church deceased was a member, assisted by Rev A.J. Terrill of Trinity United Church. The pallbearers were Messrs James McGill, Alex McPhail, James Timmons, Jas Barker, John H. Timmons and Alex Barker. Among those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs Thos Wilson, Renfrew; Mrs John E. Connery and son William of Castleford; Mr Andrew Sproule, Arnprior, and Mr T.E. Foster of Smiths Falls.
