License issued Feb. 5. =================== The Lawrence Locomotive (Lawrence, NE), Thursday, February 27, 1958; pg. 1 JOHN WENZINGER OBITUARY Funeral services were held at 9 :00 o'clock last Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Church for John Wenzinger Msgr. F.L. Sherman offered the Requim (sic) High Mass and officiated at the burial services in Sacred Heart cemetery (sic). Pall bearers were Leo Wenzinger, Jim Wenzinger, Wayne Wenzinger, Raymond Martin, Elmer Britten and Gilbert Gilsdorf. John Wenzinger, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wenzinger was born near Lawrence, Nebr. on August 14, 1877 and departed this life on February 16, 1958 at his home in Lawrence at the age of 80 years, 6 months and two days. He was one of the oldest native residents of this community. Hw was united in marriage to Mary Hartman on February 26, 1908 at Sacred Heart church (sic). Plans for the celebration of the Golden anniversary of their wedding where being made at the time. Mr. Wenzinger suffered another stroke and he became seriously ill. In the spring of 1956 Mr. and Mrs. Wenzinger retired from thier (sic) farm home and moved to Lawrence. Being a long time resident of the community the deceased earned the respect and friendship of everyone by his honestly, loyalty and devotion to his church and his family. He is survived by his wife Mary, one son John Wenzinger Jr. of Lawrence and three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Kohmetscher of Lawrence, Mrs. Agnes Martin of Ogallala and Mrs. Alice McFann of Denver also 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. One sister and three brothers Mrs. Joe Gilsdorf, Joe Wenzinger and Mark Wenzinger of the Lawrence community and Lawrence Wenzinger of Denver Colo. Out of town relatives here for the funeral included: Mrs. Clare Pressiler and son and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fielder Duane and Mary of Harvard, Nebr. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hartman of Hastings; Mrs. Bill Johnson of Blue Hill; Mr. and Mrs. John Hartman of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wenzinger and Mrs Ralph McFann of Denver; Mrs. Marguerite Lammon of Alliance; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Walz of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Martin and family of Ogalla (sic); Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wombacher of Shelby; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kimminau of Superior.
