Description	:	John M. Bauer, age 74, long time Tolley area farmer, died Wednesday, June 18th. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 21 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tolley, with Father Joseph Adkins officiating. Interment was in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, rural Tolley with Anderson Mortuary of Mohall in charge of arrangements. Rosary was recited Friday evening at 8 p.m. in the church. They farmed in Sauk Prairie Township, Ward County, first living in rural Kenmare, then moving to rural Tolley in 1941. For the last eight years he was a school bus driver for Tolley School District. He was a member and trustee of St. Peter and Paul Church, served as district Democratic and committeeman, and was a longtime member of the Sauk Prairie Township Board. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. Deane (Florence) Lautenschlager, Kenmare, and Mrs. Roger (Marcia) Elsbernd, Crosby; son, Michael D., Tolley; 17 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; foster children, reared by the Bauers, Joe Bauer, Burlington, William, Grant and Steven Bauer, all Sawyer, Sue Mock, Karlsruhe, Mary Gallagher and Barbara Bauer, Kenmare, and Teresa Gallagher, Fargo; sisters, Mrs. Joe Rick and Mrs. Bertha Jensen, both Minneapolis, and Mrs. Annie Hoefer, Thief River Falls, Mn., and brothers, Gothart and Andrew, Wolf Point, Mont., and Ted, Spokane, Wash.
