Description	:	John Michael Ganshorn was born in Russia on October 2, 1848, and died on October 11, 1936 at the age of 88 years and 9 days. On February 15, 1869, he was united in marriage to Catherine Elizabeth Weckecer of Russia, who preceded him in death after the family had moved to Beaver Crossing. Read More	John Michael Ganshorn was born in Russia on October 2, 1848, and died on October 11, 1936 at the age of 88 years and 9 days. On February 15, 1869, he was united in marriage to Catherine Elizabeth Weckecer of Russia, who preceded him in death after the family had moved to Beaver Crossing. To this union were born eight children, seven in Russia and one in America. On March 17, 1887, the family set sail for America, landing here in April 1887. They settled at Friend, Nebraska, living there one year. From there they moved to Exeter, Nebraska, where they resided for two years, then moving on a farm northwest of Beaver Crossing where he lived until his death. In a revival meeting on June 13, 1894 he was converted and received a definite experience of salvation and to this experience he clung until his Lord called him home a few days ago. He not only lived an honest, Christian life but also taught it to his children. He leaves to mourn his passing eight children: Catherine Elizabeth of Long Beach, Calif.; Mary Magdaline, who gave her life as a missionary and is buried in the heart of Africa; Frederick of Lincoln, Nebr.; Alexander of Cobble Hill, British Columbia, Canada; Michael and John of Grand Coulee, Saskatchewan, Canada; Marie Sophia of Beaver Crossing, Nebr.; John Michael, who died in infancy; thirty-one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and a host of friends.
