Description	:	Fredrick Ganshorn was born November 15, 1870 at Anton, Russia, the son of Michael and Elizabeth Ganshorn. He departed this life Tuesday September 25, 1956 at the family home in Lincoln. He came to the United States at the age of fifteen settling in Nebraska. On February 16, 1899, he was united in marriage to Katherine Yakel. Read More	Fredrick Ganshorn was born November 15, 1870 at Anton, Russia, the son of Michael and Elizabeth Ganshorn. He departed this life Tuesday September 25, 1956 at the family home in Lincoln. He came to the United States at the age of fifteen settling in Nebraska. On February 16, 1899, he was united in marriage to Katherine Yakel. To this union were born ten children, Henry of Portland, Oregon, Carl of Detroit, Michigan, Joe of Lincoln, Robert and Harry of Beaver Crossing, Mrs. Helen Buehner of Campbell, California, Mrs. Esther Wurst of Beaver Crossing, Mrs. Marie Barth of Friend, Mrs. Sophie Schultz of Portland, Oregon and Ruth who preceded him in death. He also is survived by seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also, two brothers, John and Mike of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and a sister Mrs. Kate Ebers of Long Beach, California. A brother and two sisters preceded him. Twenty eight years of his early married life was spent farming near Beaver Crossing. In 1927, he retired from the farm and moved to Lincoln, where the remainder of his life was spent. In his early youth he was converted and joined the Evangelical United Brethren Church. He was faithful to his Lord and his church to the end. During his last illness, he often spoke of longing to go meet his heavenly Father. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Wadlow's Mortuary in Lincoln with graveside services and burial in the Beaver Crossing cemetery. Rev. D. R. Roker, assisted by Rev. Stewart and Rev. Reynolds conducted the graveside service. Pallbearers were sons Robert, Harry, Joe and Carl and sons-in-law Ervin Barth and R. P. Wurst.
