Sir: I hereby report that the name of John Molyneaux, Private, Company, 85th Indiana, who was a pensioner on the rolls of this agency, under certificate number 861.626, and who was last paid at $12, to July 1898, has been dropped because of death. John Molyneux, Private, Company B, 85th Regiment, Indiana Volunteers, was enrolled on the 16th day of August 1862 at Montezuma, and . . . Discharged for disability December 21, 1863. Army of the United States, Certificate of Disability for discharge. John Molyneux, a Private of Captain Francis Banks, Company B of Eighty-fifth Regiment of United States Indiana Volunteers was enlisted by Lieutenant Phillips of the Eighty-fifth Regiment of Indiana Volunteers at Montezuma, Indiana on the sixteenth day of August 1862, to serve three years; he was born in Paris in the empire of France is fourty-two years of age, five feet six inches high, sandy complexion, black eyes, Auburn hair, and by occupation when enlisted a farmer. . . . Discharged this 21st day of December 1863 at "illegible," Munfreesboro, Tennessee. Volume XVII, Number 40, Thursday, September 22, 1898, Page 5, Column 3. John Mulleneaux, Sr., died at his home in Miller Tuesday, at the advanced age of 77 years. He was a veteran of the civil war, and had been a resident of Miller for five or six years. He was a devout christian, an active member of the M.E. church. The wife and five grown children mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. Funeral services were conducted yesterday by Rev. Norvell, the remains being buried in the G.A.R. cemetary. The community's sympathy is extended to the sorrowing family.
