Mr. Morrison was born in Ohio March 14, 1851. He was married to Miss Charlotte Striker Dec. 28, 1874. With his wife be came to Iowa about forty years ago, locating in Victor. Read More	Source: The Victor Record 9/27/1923 DEATH OF JOHN MORRISON John Morrison, former resident of Victor, died in a hospital at Ladora Monday, Sept. 24, following an operation. Mr. Morrison was born in Ohio March 14, 1851. He was married to Miss Charlotte Striker Dec. 28, 1874. With his wife be came to Iowa about forty years ago, locating in Victor. Mr. and Mrs. Morrison became the parents of a son and a daughter. The daughter, Jennie, died April 27, 1903. Mrs. Morrison also died in Victor Jan. 6, 1904. After his wife's death Mr. Morrison lived in Marengo number of years. It was at that time he joined the Presbyterian church at that place. After some years of absence he returned to Marengo about six years ago. He served as janitor of the church for about four years. He suffered from an affliction common to old men for some time, but was cheerful and able to work. He died in the hospital at Ladora, where he had gone for a surgical operation, at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24. Mr. Morrision was a dependable workman, an honorable man, and a man of gentle ways. His kind acts and evident good will made him friends wherever he was known and he appreciated these friendships deeply. He is survived by his son, Larene, of Chicago, and a brother, who lives in Ottumwa, Iowa. The funeral was held in the M. E. church of Victor at 2 p.m. on Sept. 26, the pastor, Rev. J. J. Pritchard, assisting Rev. H. B. Allen of Marengo. Burial took place in the Victor cemetery.
