Description	:	John Loken was born in Norway and came to America as a young man and worked in MN a short while. He came to North Dakota in 1912 and resided in Rock Township of Benson County. John married Valborg Christianson the daughter of Karl and Klara Christianson in March of 1913. They lived for a short time on a farm in section 26 and then moved to her family farm which they later purchased. John and Valborg had one adopted son named Ole, who resides in Sheyenne. John served on several community boards which include... Read More	John Loken was born in Norway and came to America as a young man and worked in MN a short while. He came to North Dakota in 1912 and resided in Rock Township of Benson County. John married Valborg Christianson the daughter of Karl and Klara Christianson in March of 1913. They lived for a short time on a farm in section 26 and then moved to her family farm which they later purchased. John and Valborg had one adopted son named Ole, who resides in Sheyenne. John served on several community boards which include the Rock Township board of supervisors, Plainview School District board, Farmers Union Oil Co. board of Sheyenne and board of directors of the Equity Co-Op Elevator of Sheyenne. His wife Valborg passed away in Jun of 1948. In the fall of 1952 John married Mrs. Ida Nordlund. They lived on the farm until 1967 when they moved into Sheyenne.
