Description	:	March 4, 1920 - Carroll Times - Master John Olerich, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oelrich, residing in the vicinity of Breda, died Saturday night at about 11:30, death being caused by drinking the contents of a bottle of medicine which had been given him to carry. The little fellow, came to Carroll with his father Saturday, was taken to the doctor's office, where medicine was prescribed. Read More	March 4, 1920 - Carroll Times - Master John Olerich, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oelrich, residing in the vicinity of Breda, died Saturday night at about 11:30, death being caused by drinking the contents of a bottle of medicine which had been given him to carry. The little fellow, came to Carroll with his father Saturday, was taken to the doctor's office, where medicine was prescribed. As the boy insisted upon carrying the bottle, the father finally gave him permission to do so. They went to the Oelrich & Powers garage, where the father was having some work done, and little John drank the medicine which been given him to carry. Mr. Oelrich did not notice the absence of the medicine and, though John began to complain of his hands being cold, the father had no idea of what had happened until they arrived home, when the boy admitted drinking the medicine. He was almost paralyzed at that time and a hurry up call was put in for a physician, but it was too late. John Oelrich was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oelrich and was 5 years, 6 months, and 11 days old at the time of his death. The funeral was held from the home near Breda Monday afternoon, Rev. R. Burton Sheppard in charge. The remains were brought to the Carroll cemetery. The pall bearers were Leo Brinker, Albert Leslie, Edward Goecke, and Roy Wernimont.
