Description	:	JOHN OTTO TURNER John Otto Turner, son of Otto and Eva Turner, was born Oct. 15, 1912, at Uniontown, Kans., and departed from this life in his home near Capron, Okla, April 19, 1956. As a boy he lived with his parents near Hardtner, later moving to Kiowa. He graduated from Kiowa high school in 1931, and attended Northwestern State teachers college at Alva for one year. Read More	JOHN OTTO TURNER John Otto Turner, son of Otto and Eva Turner, was born Oct. 15, 1912, at Uniontown, Kans., and departed from this life in his home near Capron, Okla, April 19, 1956. As a boy he lived with his parents near Hardtner, later moving to Kiowa. He graduated from Kiowa high school in 1931, and attended Northwestern State teachers college at Alva for one year. At the age of 17 he was converted to the Christian faith and joined the Methodist church in Kiowa. He was united in marriage to Mildred Anna Vannaman on May 14, 1935, and to this union were born one daughter, Rosalyn Joy, who is a freshman at Northwestern State college at Alva, and two sons, John Dee and Lonnie Ray, both of the home. Others left to mourn his passing are his mother, Mrs. Otto Turner of Kiowa; three sisters, Mrs. Ora Olson and Mrs. Ruby Olson of Hardtner and Mrs. Vivian Millege of Alva; one brother, Leslie Turner of LaJunta, Colo., as well as many other relatives and a host of friends. John was a devoted husband, a loving father and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. ************************* The community was stunned by the sudden death of John Turner on Thursday evening. He died very quietly with a heart attack. He leaves his wife Mildred, a daughter Joy, and two sons Lonnie and Johnnie, also his mother, three sisters and a brother. He has driven a school bus for many years and farmed for Charles Lee. A fine man, he will be missed by the church, school and his many associates. Our sympathy is extended to his heart broken family. Funeral rites were held in school auditorium on Sunday with Rev. Carter and Rev. Calvert officiating.
