Description	:	OBITUARY________ John P. Cunningham, son of Joseph and Mary Cunningham, was born November 5,1883 in Boone County Nebraska, and came with his parents to York County in 1902. After attending grade school, he finished his education in high school and business college in St. Edwards, Nebraska. Mr. Cunningham’s life was devoted to his family, to farming and to his hobby, home remodeling in the York community. Read More	OBITUARY________ John P. Cunningham, son of Joseph and Mary Cunningham, was born November 5,1883 in Boone County Nebraska, and came with his parents to York County in 1902. After attending grade school, he finished his education in high school and business college in St. Edwards, Nebraska. Mr. Cunningham’s life was devoted to his family, to farming and to his hobby, home remodeling in the York community. As a young man he farmed west of town, later going into dairy business on York’s east edge. About 40 years ago he went into the real estate business. He played an important role in the formulating of York’s real estate code. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the B.P.O. Elks. In failing health the last two years, he died as the result of hear complications on May 23, 1952. He was preceded in death by two children, Mary who died at the age of 17 years and James, 15 months. He leaves his wife Mary Cunningham; four sons, Joseph, Lester and John C. Cunningham of York, and Bob Cunningham of Denver, Colorado; and four daughters, Mrs. F. J. Neville and Mrs. Paul Geis of York, Mrs. E. J. Tesar of Denver, Colorado, and Miss Betty Cunningham of Lincoln. Also surviving are his two sister, Mrs. J. E. Friel of York and Miss Regina Cunningham of Lincoln, and 19 grand children. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’ Catholic church, Monday morning, May 26 with Rev. Msgr. L. L. Mandeville celebrating requiem high mass. Burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery. Pallbearers were: Dr. V.J. Morgan, Patrick McGowan, Dennis Meehan, Lloyd Morgan, John Neville, and Henry Kaspari.
