Read More	JOHN PAULSON DIED AFTER MONTHS ILLNESS Deceased Was One Of Amaqua's Leading Citizens John Paulson, a resident of Amaqua township for more than sixty years and one of the most prominent farmers passed away last Friday evening after a two months' illness due to hardening of the arteries. Death followed the first serious illness Mr. Paulson ever suffered. He has always been of strong body and mind and of the most robust health. For many years John Paulson had been one of the leading citizens of Amaqua township and west Boone county. He had served his township as trustee for some years, served as corn sealer during the corn-loan period and has for many years been one who many had turned to for advice and assistance in problems of all kinds. He was at all times interested in civic and political problems and was loyal to his community in all its interests. Mr. Paulson was born in Germany January 2, 1871. He was the son of George and Anna (Cook) Paulson. When but a few months of age he came to America with his parents. They came directly to Boone county where they have made their home throughout those many years. John was reared in the old Paulson homestead in Amaqua township, and received his education in the public schools. He remained with his parents until he reached his majority and then started farming for himself. For three years he cultivated leased land, after which he purchased his own farm. This he developed, through hard labor and thrift, to one of the model farms in this part of the state, which is composed of good modern buildings and other of the latest improvements. Mr. Paulson had been a member of St. John's Lutheran church for many years, serving as church treasurer for some time. On March 8, 1896, Mr. Paulson was united in holy wedlock to Miss Katie Maas, a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Maas. To this union were born eight children, Harry of Hayfield, Minn., Arthur, Ray, Rudolph, Lloyd, Bernadine, Luvern and Clarence all of Ogden. The deceased is also survived by his aged father, George Paulson, Sr., who makes his home with his son Louis Paulson. The mother preceded him in death in 1904. Others whom he leaves to mourn his passing are seven brothers and two sisters, Maggie Peters of Perry, Mrs. John White of Ames, Herman and Charles Paulson of Adrain, N.D., Henry of Del Norte, Colo., William of Ogden, Harry of Grand Junction, Louis and George Paulson of Ogden; seven grandchildren and a host of saddened friends. Funeral services were held from Zion's Lutheran church, Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. A.J. Boehm conducting. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery northwest of Ogden. The six oldest sons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral services for the late John Paulson were: Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Fred Wilson and Roy Dixon of Ames, Mrs. Maggie Peters and son Wilbur, Mr. and Mrs. Don Rhodes of Perry, Mrs. Lloyd Valine and son Ronald, Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Ness of Story City, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Cook and son Irvin, Mrs. Lloyd Griffin and Mr. and Mrs. Harley Maas of Terrill, Iowa, Mr. Everett Maas of Storm Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Maas and son Bill Jr., and Miss Eldora Reimers of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Watkins, Dora Adir, and Mrs. Bernard Nebbe of Boone, Mr. and Mrs. L.
