He was born in Jackson ounty, Ia., and was 44 years of age. Besides a wife, four children John, Jr., Mathew, Threcia and Helen are left to mourn his loss. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the St. Anthony church, conducted by Father Vermuelen and the remains interred in the Catholic cemetery. `````````````` March 7, 1918, p. 1, col. 4 OBITUARY. John Peter Homan was born in Jackson County, Iowa, Nov. 2 1873 and died Feb. 23, 1918 at the age of forty-four years, three months and twenty one days. He came to Nebraska with his parents in 1876 and settled with them in Butler county. He was married Feb. 8, 1898 to Miss Mary Peutz. The following year they moved to Cedar Rapids, Neb. To this union were born four children, John, Matthew, Thresa and Helena all of which survive him. Together with his father, four brothers and seven sisters namely, Mrs. Elizabeth Weiss of Bollus, Mrs. Barbara Seiverding and Dean Homan of David City, Mrs. Mary Besch, Mrs. Christina Birkel and Mrs. Josephine Demuth of Fullerton, Mrs. Anna Dresch of Primrose, Peter of Cedar Rapids, Wiliam, Benjamin and George of Butler county all of whom attended the funeral. His mother having preceded him June 1906. Other near relatives who attended the funeral were: Matthew Peutz, his father in law, Herman Markuse his uncle, Mrs. Diana Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. N. Morbach, Nick, Peter and Will Peutz, Mr. and Mrs. N. Phillips, Mrs. Nick Romakel, Herman Seiverding and Peter Reisdorff of Butler county. Those from Fullerton were: Jacob Birkel, Mike Besch and Hiller Demuth. The pallbearers were Herman Seiverding, Henry Birkel, Jake Birkel, Mike Besch, Hiller Demuth and Charles Dresch. _____ CARD OF THANKS.
