Description	:	KELCH, PETER—Peter Kelch, son of John and Susan Kelch, was born near Princeville, Ill., November 1, 1877. He passed away January 9, 1963, at Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 8 days. At the age of 10 he came with his folks from Illinois and located in Fillmore county and had resided here since with the exception of a few years. Read More	KELCH, PETER—Peter Kelch, son of John and Susan Kelch, was born near Princeville, Ill., November 1, 1877. He passed away January 9, 1963, at Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 8 days. At the age of 10 he came with his folks from Illinois and located in Fillmore county and had resided here since with the exception of a few years. He was united n marriage to Ida Grace Cooksey, October 4, 1910, and to this union were born four children. He is survived by his wife Grace, three sons, J. Derwent of David City, W. Sperry of Atlanta, Ga., Frederick D. of Fairmont, one daughter, Mrs. Ralphetta Ebbeka of Geneva, a son-in-law, Walter Ebbeka, three daughters-in-law Theresa, Gladys and Pauline, 13 grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher of Lincoln, Mrs. Katie Saylor of Albany, Ore., Mrs. Minnie Schmidt of Fairfield, and Mrs. Hattie Stoldorf of Barrington, Ill., numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Kelch spent most of his life at his trade as a blacksmith. He operated a shop in Geneva until a few years ago, when poor health forced his retirement. Funeral services were conducted at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Sunday, January 13. Walter H. Hovind, of the Church of Christ and the Rev. Fred H. Stephens of the Evangelical United Brethren church officiated. A mixed quartet from York College, RaJean Thayer, JoLee Thayer, Keith Struaghn and Dan Smith, sang “We Are Going Down the Valley,” “The Touch of His Hand on Mine” and “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.” Joe Lewis was director. Pallbearers were Emil Filip, Fred Fox, Henry Foster, Wilson Miller, Iryl Shaner and Charles Weiss. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal January 1963
