Naig will officiate at the services. Mr. Martensen died March 22 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after an extended illness. He was born near Hartley, Osceola County, the son of John C. and Elsie Johannsen Martensen. He received his early education in the rural schools of Jones County. John Martensen and Anna Dirks were married Oct. 2, 1935, at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church near Monticello. The couple farmed in Jones County until they moved to Monticello in October of 1979. He is survived by his wife, Anna; three daughters, Mrs. Darwin (Carol) Anders, Mrs. James (Beverley) Diekens, both of Greeley, Colo.; and Mrs. Larry (Janice) Oetken, Windsor, Colo.; eight sons, John W., Apple Valley, Minn.; Carl, Virgil, Allen, and Harold, all of Anamosa; Dean, Salt Lake City, Utah; Marvin and Larry, both of Monticello; and 32 grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Paul Martensen of Monticello, and five sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Katherine) Neilsen, Anamosa; Mrs. Elsie Hubner, Monticello; Mrs. Augusta Wennekamp, and Mrs. Frieda Spear, both of Marion, and Mrs. Harrison (Ella) Bohlken, Foley, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Hilda.
