BURIAL AT FARIVIEW Funeral services for John Quincy Shaw, whose death took place Friday morning at the home of a son, James Shaw, at Shirley, will be conducted at Elwood Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the body will be brought here for the burial in Fairview cemetery. The funeral party will reach Tipton about 3:30 and a brief prayer service will be held at the grave. Interment will be beside the wife whose death occurred here many years ago. John Quincy Shaw will be remembered well by the older residents of this county. Although born in Butler County, O., September 7, 1839, he lived a life time in this county coming here when a young man of 19 and following the occupation of carpenter and farmer. He was married July 13, 1859 to Mary E. Warner of this county, her death occurring many years ago. They were the parents of eight children of which five are still living, they being Mrs. Charles Harbit of Aroma; Mrs. Harry Rogers of Sharon, Pa., Asher Shaw of Elwood; Clarence Shaw of Kokomo and James Shaw of Shirley at whose home he died. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. (Continued on Page 2) BODY OF PIONEER. (Continued from Page 1) For several years Mr. Shaw was superintendent of the County [farm?] of Tipton county and following his retirement from that position engaged in farming.
