Description	:	Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 57 year old John R. Rivers of 521 Alder Street. Rivers, a welder for the Anaconda Company, was crushed to death Friday while working near the acid plant. Mr. Rivers was born at Sulligent, Alabama on November 17, 1919, and grew up in Wyoming. Rivers, a welder for the Anaconda Company, was crushed to death Friday while working near the acid plant. Mr. Rivers was born at Sulligent, Alabama on November 17, 1919, and grew up in Wyoming. He lived a brief time at Avenal, California, where he graduated from high school. He moved to Anaconda in 1941. Rivers served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Armored Signal Corps. He was a member of Acacia Lodge, AF & AM, Elks, Eagles, VFW, American Veterans and the LDS Church. John is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Terry Rivers, and three daughters and a son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Corr, Laura Mary Rivers and Linda Rivers, all of Anaconda. Three grandchildren survive. Two brothers and a sister-in-law survive, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rivers and Joe Rivers, all of California. Sisters and brothers-in-law surviving are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jacober of San Diego, California; and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Laird of Ogden, Utah. Finnegan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery with military honors at gravesite. Pallbearers were Don Hoenstine, Terry Johnson, George Kovacich, Terry Rivers, Mike Corr and Fred Lague.
