Description	:	Sailed here with his family,from England in 1833. He was 1 year old. Lived in Richwoods ,Peoria Illinois. Fought in the Civil War. Was a shop keeper. Married Susan Sweeley from Lycoming,Pennsylvania, who had moved to Salsbury, LaSalle Illinois with her family at 16 years old. Married Susan Sweeley in Oct.18,1855. They had 10 children per 1900 census with 7 surviving at that time. Pioneered to Exeter, Fillmore Nebraska in 1870. He had his land grant of 180 acres for military service in Civil War. They came after Susan's sister Rosa and her husband Parkerson Ryan pioneered with several other post war veterans Lawrence Ryan Parkers brother, Michael Sweeley Susan's brother, Henry Hammond, John Patrick Drummond, came and started settling several quarters of land in the same area of Exeter-lots were actually attached to each other. They farmed their land for several decades. All the families inner married between sisters and brothers. So after a few years all these families were related to each other. In fact Susan's daughter Mary married her sister Rosa's husband Parker's brother Lawrence. So her Uncles brother became her husband, it is confusing. They are all buried except Michael Sweeley in the Exeter Cemetary. John Redfern died the same day that Walter Ryan, Mary Redfern's son, his grandson. Walter was accidentally shot by neighbor James Hotec while getting ready for hunting trip. I do not know cause of death with John Redfern to die the same day until I can travel there to read documents first hand. John & Susan were my gr gr parents, Mary was my gr grandmother.
