Read More	From a 1911 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: John Robert Daigh was born July 8, 1846 at Spring River, Mo. In 1862 with his parents, he went to Springfield, Ill., and from there to Christian county, where he was married to Miss Lillie McCay on Sept. 11, 1884. Then with his wife he went to Parsons, Kansas, and after residing there three years, came to Boone county, Nebraska, and has lived in and near Albion ever since, until two weeks ago, after having sold his home preparatory to going to Florida, he came to Fullerton to make a farewell visit with Mrs. Daigh's brother, W. J. McCay. His health has been on the decline for three years and on his arrival in Fullerton a complete breakdown came and at the end of a week he was taken to St. Mary's hospital at Columbus, where he died May 20th, 1911. During his sickness he expressed himself as ready to die, that he did not believe in death-bed repentance, as for himself he was always looking upward. Mr. Daigh had been a consistent member of the M.E. church since his boyhood days. He was a man whom to know was to love. Any person ever having felt the warm clasp of his hand could not doubt the goodness of the man. We know that our loss is his gain. He leaves a wife and seven brothers to mourn his loss. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. John McVay at the First M.E. church. Interment at Fullerton cemetery. - M.C.D.T.
