Description	:	John Spar was born in Westmorland county, Pa., Dec. 25, 1831. He died, Feb. 9, 1912 at the home of his son, Frazie at Venus, Neb. He was married to Mary Besore in 1853. Ten children were born to this union. Three died while quite young. Those who are yet living are Frazie and Isaac of Venus, Mac of Presbo, S.D., Frank of Fairfield, Ill., John of York, Neb., Jemina Frame of Orchard and Katie Carson of Colorado, all of whom were present at the time of his death, except the latter. He was married to Mary Besore in 1853. Ten children were born to this union. Three died while quite young. Those who are yet living are Frazie and Isaac of Venus, Mac of Presbo, S.D., Frank of Fairfield, Ill., John of York, Neb., Jemina Frame of Orchard and Katie Carson of Colorado, all of whom were present at the time of his death, except the latter. His wife preceded him in death four years ago. Grandpa Spar, as he was called by everyone the last few years, was a kind father, a loving husband and a good neighbor. He was well spoken of by all, who knew him. He was confined to his room most of the time, during the past four years. During his illness, he was never heard to complain or murmur. He died trusting in God as his Savior. The funeral services were held in the Enterprise schoolhouse, Monday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. E.W. Nye. The remains were laid to rest in Hope cemetery. The neighbors and friends extend their heartfelt sympathy in this their sad bereavement. ...The Creighton News 13 Feb 1913
